Justin Timberlake has hit back at Kanye West on Twitter after the rapper named him in his VMA speech

KANYE West was as controversial as ever when he took to the VMA stage last night. But the All Day rapper managed to rub an unlikely character up the wrong way.

Justin Timblerake became the butt of Kanye's jokes after Kim Kardashian's husband named him in his MTV Video Music Awards speech. The 38 year old said that he had seen Justin crying after missing out on a Grammy for his FutureSex/LoveSounds album. "I just, I sat at the Grammys and saw Justin Timberlake and Cee Lo lose," he said into the mic.

 "Gnarls Barkley and the Sexyback album... Justin, I ain't trying to put you on blast but I saw that man in tears bro. And I was thinking like, he deserved to win album of the year. And the small box that we are as entertainers of the evening, how could you explain that?" Justin later responded on Twitter: "Kanye is so cute, y'all."

The tweet received 38k retweets and 50k favourites and surprisingly a huge backlash. So Justin had to tell everyone to calm down and explained: "Jokes, you guys... Jokes. #chill." Before adding: "Btw... I JUST watched my man 'Ye's FULL speech... He always has a point. And I support it. #truth."
